 “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.”- Matthew 7:1-5  This section of scripture is probably one of the most misinterpreted and misquoted texts throughout the Bible- (Judge Not.) Many people are quick to think things such as …”Wait if you are a Christian, who are you to judge? Didn’t Jesus say that you are not to Judge?” We live in a culture that claims that everyone has a right to do what he or she wants to do, and because of that, this verse gets quoted whenever the church or a believer makes a pronouncement against some form of sinful behavior.  This is the reason why it is important for us to understand that Jesus was not making a broad prohibition against all judgment and discernment, but making a prohibition against judgement that is done in self-centered pride. In this part, we studied three reasons that Jesus provides on why such judgment is sinful. #1 it reveals a wrong view of God, #2 it reveals a wrong view of others, and #3 it reveals a wrong view of ourselves. As Jesus' followers, we must first discern our own faults before examining the faults of others! / No juzguen, para que no sean juzgados. Porque con el juicio con que ustedes juzgan, serán juzgados; y con la medida con que miden, serán medidos. ¿Por qué miras la paja que está en el ojo de tu hermano, y no miras la viga que está en tu propio ojo? ¿Cómo dirás a tu hermano: “Déjame sacar la paja de tu ojo”, cuando tienes una viga en el tuyo? ¡Hipócrita! Saca primero la viga de tu propio ojo, y entonces verás bien para sacar la paja del ojo de tu hermano.” Mateo‬ ‭7:1-5‬. Esta sección de las Escrituras es probablemente uno de los textos más mal interpretados y mal citados en toda la Biblia. (No juzgues.) Muchas personas piensan rápidamente cosas como ... ”Espera, si eres cristiano, ¿quién eres tú para juzgar?  ¿No dijo Jesús que no debes juzgar?  Vivimos en una cultura que afirma que todos tienen derecho a hacer lo que quieran hacer, y por eso, este versículo se cita cada vez que la iglesia o un creyente pronuncia palabra en contra de algún tipo de comportamiento pecaminoso.  Esta es la razón por la que es importante que entendamos que Jesús no estaba haciendo una prohibición general contra todo juicio y discernimiento, sino haciendo una prohibición contra el juicio que se hace en orgullo egocéntrico. En esta parte, estudiamos tres razones que ofrece Jesús sobre por qué tal juicio es pecaminoso.  #1 revela una visión incorrecta de Dios, #2 revela una visión incorrecta de los demás y #3 revela una visión incorrecta de nosotros mismos. Como seguidores de Jesús, primero debemos discernir nuestras propias faltas antes de examinar las faltas de los demás.
